KZED, Oregon's Modern Alternative Mix has been influenced by some of the top Alternative stations in the nation. Uncle Cubby the brains (or lack of) behind ZED DB. He's used his 14 plus years in the radio industry to craft a Alternative station that everyone will love.
From a little town called Molalla in the shadow of Mount Hood to Portland and beyond. The motto around the station is "Keep KZED Weird" borrowing from the bumper sticker you see everywhere in Portland that says "Keep Portland Weird"
And in time we plan to also take a look and put a spotlight on the local music scene!
While we'll be playing the likes of Lorde, Foals, Cage The Elephant, Of Monsters and Men ZED plans to play homage to it's Pacific Northwest Roots - with the birth of grunge just a few hours up I-5 in the Emerald City of Seattle.
So it goes without saying you'll be hearing from Pearl Jam, Temple Of The Dog, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Alice In Chains as well as other bands that rocked the stages in clubs before hitting it big on a world wild scale.
